Hi!
The University of the Sunshine Coast offers a relaxed alternative to the often impersonal and busy Brisbane universities. Enjoy studying whilst relaxing in our enviable climate on gorgeous Sunshine Coast beaches...... one of the most beautiful places on earth.
The bedroom we have on offer includes a ceiling fan, bed & linen, extra mattress for guests, towels, towel rack, desk, chair and lamp, bookcase and built-in-robe. The main section of our home is reverse-cycle airconditioned..... we loved it over the last summer months!

I have been hosting students in my home since the early '90s and love doing so.
Our family consists of four adult children with only one still at home. Our youngest, Jarrah, is employed in plumbing and finishing his last High School year. Our eldest three are studying in Queensland's capital, Brisbane, approximately one and a quarter hours drive south of here.
We are a loving family who have enjoyed welcoming our 'Hong Kong son' to our home in 2015. Hoyin is studying exercise science at the University of the Sunshine Coast and owns a car here. He travels by bus to university each day, however, he is very close to achieving his Australian driving license! He will enjoy driving around the Sunshine Coast when he achieves his license!
I love to cook and prepare a home-cooked meal most evenings. We own a Japanese rice cooker and a bread maker amongst many appliances. I like to provide my 'kids' what they need to pack a healthy lunch each day and breakfast foods and snacks are always available. On the weekend, we may have a bar-b-que, eat in or venture out as the weather allows. Life is never 'standard' around here, lol!
We love animals. We have three small pomeranian dogs, a cat and a parrot. Most Australians love animals and we are no different!
The photos I show are of Hoyin's room prior to him arriving. The room we have to offer is next to his and very similar with the same facilities. The main bath is shared by our boys. Our home has a small heated outdoor spa, a swimming pool, front and rear yards and easy access to bus stops. It is about a ten minute drive to the gorgeous beaches and local shopping centres and we also have local smaller shops close by.
We love the more relaxed atmosphere of the Sunshine Coast after living in the capital, Brisbane, for years. As a family, we love to fish in our boat and 4wd in our Landcruiser. We have a lovely off-road camper/caravan that we take camping on beaches. Hoyin enjoyed 4wding on the Heritage listed Fraser Island with us last year.
We encourage our students to bring home friends and treat our home as theirs. We like to think of our students as family and love that Hoyin refers to us as his Aussie family.
If you'd enjoy a relaxed lifestyle in a wonderful Aussie climate while studying, consider our home yours.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Caroline :)
