Homestay in New Westminster, Canada Hello and thank you for showing interest in our homestay listing. We are a quiet and friendly couple. We live in a big beautiful house on a safe and quiet street in the beautiful City of New Westminster. The bus stop is two minutes away and the Braid sky train station is five minutes away. A couple minutes away is convenient shopping e.g. 7/11, pizza, sushi bar, Chinese food, grocery, bank, pharmacy. There is easy access via sky train to the nearby cities of Vancouver, Burnaby, and Coquitlam. We are close to reputable high schools, colleges, universities, English language schools, malls, cinemas, recreation centers, and libraries. Douglas College is ten minutes away. Metrotown mall, the largest and most popular mall in Canada, is fifteen minutes away. There is easy access via sky train to SFU, FIC, Kwantlen University, and to other schools in downtown Vancouver. It takes forty five minutes to get to downtown Vancouver from Braid Skytrain Station, which is near our home. Because of its immense popularity, Vancouver is one of the most expensive cities in the world to live in and to get an education. We are running homestay to help young foreign students to achieve their education goals at a reasonable cost and to interact with people from different cultures. We have been involved in homestay programs for over ten years and we have found it interesting in meeting and learning about the different cultures as well as sharing in our Canadian culture. We enjoy, cooking, gardening, barbecuing, reading, and watching TV. We have traveled extensively throughout Canada, the Caribbean, the United States, and parts of Mexico. We enjoyed the different cultures, languages, food, and music we encountered in our travel. We have developed a likeness for different type of ethnic foods and have learned to cook a wide range of ethnic dishes. We are familiar with many different cultures. We have had the pleasure of hosting students from different parts of the world and the honor of meeting the parents of some of the high school students. We have had wonderful experience hosting students from China, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, South Korea, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Holland, and Germany. Many of our past students still find time to keep in touch with us. We speak fluent English at all times. We enjoy helping our students with their English vocabulary, choosing school activities, travel plans, sightseeing plans, and shopping plans etc. We have a thirty year old son who is married and has a three year old daughter. They live in their own house in the nearby city of Burnaby. We love visiting and spending time with our grand daughter. We have spacious, quiet, and well furnished bedrooms with queen size beds and fresh bedding. We provide nutritious and tasty meals. We have a huge covered patio at the rear of the house for barbecuing, eating, and outdoor relaxation during the summer months. Overall we have a happy home that is conducive to learning.
