We are located in Burnaby very close to Metrotown Mall and Skytrain Station (10 minute walk or 5-minute bus ride) or a 12-minute bus ride to Brentwood Mall. We live in a single detached home on a quiet cul de sac street overlooking North Vancouver mountains in Burnaby. Our family has been hosting international students for the last 18 years since 2006. We are experienced with hosting all age range from young highschool students to mature students. My mom who lives with me started it back then. It has now evolved to become my role to take care of the students as she is now retired but still very much loves doing it. Our home consists of myself who works from home, my spouse who works in the city, my mom who is retired and a couple of long term students. One has lived with us for the last 8 years and the other is for two years. Both students receive meals at home, have their own private rooms and shared full bathroom. We have no pets or kids at home. Only English is spoken at home. Both my partner and I have lived here in North America all our lives (37+ years). Students has access to use shared fridge, microwave, coffee maker, filtered brita water and small appliances like an electric kettle, blender and rice cooker. Shared kitchen and living room space with dining table and chairs, small couch, bean chairs, coffee table and a smart tv for casting is accessible. Small variety of exercise equipment is available (weights, yoga mat and bands). Along with meals, heat, electricity, high speed internet and laundry access is included in the monthly fee.
