Please visit our website at www.homestayaustralia.net.au.com.au As an ESL teacher for many years, I am familiar with the activities and plans of ESL students while they are studying in Australia. Mount Beauty Homestay Holidays offers international visitors a safe and exciting holiday in the Australian bush, while providing them with the opportunity to improve their English. My experience has shown that ESL students often want to practice their English during holiday times. We can do that for them in a fun and informal way. We offer a holiday that suits all interests and ages. "Stay with a teacher" refers to ourselves and we can provide homestay accommodation for six singles or 2 couples and two singles, at any one time. We have accommodated groups up to 20 with the support of local families. There is a great deal in this area that is of educational interest for the overseas visitor. Mount Beauty is a small town in the Victorian Alps of south-eastern Australia. It is situated on the Kiewa River and surrounded by forests, farmlands and mountains. See Australian wildlife in their natural surroundings. The area is considered to be one of the finest tourist regions in the state of Victoria and along with a range of recreation facilities, it provides the tourist with the opportunity to explore a little of the history of Australia. It has Victoria's largest hydro-electricity scheme, there are environmental programmes being developed, and gold fossicking in the region is a favourite with tourists. The town is conveniently situated for visitors to carry out day trips to historical towns and the wine and cheese producing areas of north-eastern Victoria. In summer the town offers facilities for swimming, fishing and boating while in winter the nearby snow fields of Falls Creek offer a range of slopes for skiers of all levels, including cross-country skiing. There are all-year-round recreational activities of golf, horse-riding, nature walks, bike riding, flying, parachuting and gliding. We offer various programmes of language tuition. If someone is interested in hang gliding, for example, we can give them some tuition in the language of hang gliding so that when they are learning the skill they understand the terminology. We also offer an Introduction to Flight Training that has proved popular with a number of students. The students spend several hours studying aviation English and then one and a half hours at the controls of the aircraft under the supervision of a qualified flight instructor.
