Hello, We live in a beautiful, very safe, neighborhood called Riverdale. It is the NW Bronx, walking distance to the Hudson River, Wave Hill and Van Cortlandt park where there is horse back riding, hiking and a lake. Within a 6 block walking distance you will find a variety of restaurants, a library, a laundry, shoemaker, hair and nail salons, pharmacies, post office, banks, etc. You can take a bus, or subway, express bus or express train to Manhattan very easily - most people in the neighborhood commute to Manhattan every day. Three major universities are located in or very near to us. We live in a house and your space is a private studio room (with private entrance on the side path of our house leading to our back yard and garden.) We have a small hen house in our garden where our chickens live. Your room is fully furnished, a big desk, dining table and chairs, a bathroom with shower, walk in closet, dresser, microwave oven, refrigerator, toaster and dishes, tv and dvd player with lots of dvd movies, books in the room, coffee/tea maker, radio and wifi. Also available is a fully furnished one bedroom apt. with full cooking kitchen. Please contact us for more details about the apt. We have hosted students and travelers from all over the world for seven years from Internationally known ESL schools in NYC and the Bronx. Many students return to us year after year for visits and also refer their friends and families! We look forward to hearing from you. For very long stays, we can negotiate the monthly fee.
