Ipresently have one homestay Student from Veitnam.I have had one from France two years ago and we are still in contact through e-mail and Skype. I very much like hosting International Students,they are so keen to learn and always interesting. I am a Nurse ,Iwork in the Recovery Room of our local Hospital.Ican have meals prepared for the students when Iam at work and of course prepare them when Iam at home.IFthe Student prefers he/she can buy and prepare their own meals,if so the monthly fee is only $600 (Canadian,it is $800 (Canadian if I provide the food. My home is modest in size but the rooms are nice and fully furnished including desks.Ihave High Speed Internet and it is very close to the University.A bus is also less than 5 min away. Ihave an outside cat ,very laid back,and anew (to me) two year old dog.He is a small/medium (40 lbs)he is lovely! very affectionate and extremly well behaved! He does not jump up on people or evenbark much ,he really is an amazing animal! I am quite taken with him. I live alone now,(except for my students0 as my children are grown and out on there own and Ihave been Divorced for many years. Iplan on retiring in two years or so so to be honest the extra income from Students would supplement a decreased retirement income.
