Please note: my homestay space is not available until January 2025. Not available at this time..... Canadian born, English speaking, Coquitlam female schoolteacher of 26 years, recently retired, is offering a caring, safe homestay experience. I am looking for FEMALE students only as I live alone. The studio is 600 sq. feet. You will have your own ground floor studio (not basement) , private bath with shower, Queen size bed, dresser, sofa, chairs, desk/table, closet, TV, WIFI and private mini kitchen with fridge, toaster, microwave and kettle. I live upstairs, where you have access to a large covered deck, BBQ, living room with fireplace, kitchen, piano and laundry facilities. There are no children and no pets in the home. Smoking is only outside of the home. There is a beautiful creek and bridge next to my house. Schools close by are Riverside Secondary, Pinetree Secondary, Archbishop Carney, Gleneagles Secondary and Douglas College (Coquitlam location). It is a 13 minute walk to Coquitlam Centre Mall and the Evergreen Skytrain which connects you to all of Vancouver. ($1400 CDN. with meals or $1100 CDN. NO MEALS included) I enjoy cooking and BBQs and prepare a variety of dinner meals, breakfast is self-serve and food is available for lunch to go. There is bus service within 5 minutes walking distance taking you to schools, shopping malls, restaurants, hiking trails, the library, recreation centers, and Skytrain to downtown. Being a school teacher, I have tutored students aged 6 to 17 for the past 20 years and enjoy helping English language learners with their school success.
